What is an MCP server?

MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard through which AI tools access external data sources. An MCP server provides those tools: connect it to your AI tool once and use the Firmenbuch data directly in the conversation afterwards.

Where does the data come from?

From the official Austrian Firmenbuch (BMJ · Justiz), Austria's official company register, including the published annual financial statements. The data is processed and distilled into financial indicators. Licensed under CC BY 4.0.

Do I need my own AI client?

For the full depth, yes: Agentic-Firmenbuch provides the interface (the MCP server), the AI client comes from the user, e.g. Claude, Cursor or GitHub Copilot. The search here on the page also works without your own client.

What does it cost?

Which countries are covered?

Austria is fully live: every legal entity in the Firmenbuch including financial statement indicators; register changes arrive daily, financial statements are loaded continuously. Germany is live with the master data of the Handelsregister; financial-statement indicators are following and are already available on a trial basis for first regions. Per-field depth is documented transparently on the data fields page.

How reliable are the answers?

For every answer, the agent accesses the official Firmenbuch data directly: traceable and verifiable instead of invented. Every answer carries a source reference.
